This research focusses on the Zakat house in Kuwait, which manages the zakat (charity) funds. The proposed research to assessing donors and potential donors’ intentional behaviour and behaviour with regards to charity donation to Zakat House. This study determines factors significantly impact donors behavioural and drive them toward giving more donations in form of money at Kuwait Zakat House.
The data collection for this research began by interviewing the subject matter experts to gather deeper understanding of the problem. The next step of data collection uses a mix of both quantitative and qualitative methods. This mix was chosen because the survey met the objective of collecting data from donors to private charity organisations (large population) and the interviews with Zakat house to gather in-depth information related to zakat practices and to verify the survey findings.
The pilot study responses provide understanding of refining the questionnaire by excluding redundant items. The quantitative data (survey) analysed using SPSS. Different statistical analyses have used to establish the validity, reliability, and causal relationship of the variables. This research is based on two theories which are (1) the theory of reasoned action (TRA) that studies the role of attitude and subjective norms on intention and actual behaviour, and (2) the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) where perceived behavioural control is added as the third independent variable along with attitude and subjective norms.
